Coelophysis
Name: Hollow form
size: about 3 feet long
occurrence: Upper Triassic
finds: Massachusetts, New Mexico,
Arizona (USA)
first description: Cope 1889
1947 was discovered in the "Ghost Ranch" ("Ghost Ranch") in New Mexico, a mass grave containing skeletons of about 100 young and adult specimens of predatory dinosaurs Coelophysis. 1982 came in the Petrified Forest in Arizona, more remains of this genus to light. The hollow bones of the dinosaurs (Coelurosauria) at that Coelophysis was a delicate bone structure, long grasping hands, slender legs, a long neck and tail and weighed an estimated 30 kilograms. With his big eyes he could see small lizards and insects. He even ate juveniles of its own genus, as the discovery of bones of a smaller copy of an adult Coelophysis between the ribs shows.
