happy to argue that the Bible also am bad. That's right. Just read the Leviticus times. Then one's hair stand on end.
But that is really unimportant, as is the following reply to:
a) The Koran is written by Allah, that is not interpreted literally but is valid forever. Bad sentences for people today have therefore retained their validity. Allah is arbitrary, and the believer must submit to. (The other also, and among others it derives from the claim to world domination of Islam)
b) The Bible is written by people who were inspired by God, but they may have made mistakes. The Bible must therefore be interpreted to mean "What is telling us today?" (1)
It is therefore possible that terrible movements are in the Bible, but they have for the people have no binding character. Man is responsible to his conscience and reason.
Because, and this is the crucial sentence:
God is wise, God is reason.
This will be found even with Ratzinger. It's official.
why is Christianity compatible with modern democracy.

The Bible in the New Testament generally not cope as "the Scripture" but as "the scriptures", to be sure but then together as one single word of God to us. But even this plural makes it clear that God's word only through human words and human words through to us is that God only by people passing through their words and their history speaks to us. It is to say that the divinity of the Word and the words is not easy to light. [..]
We can also be expressed more simply: Scripture requires interpretation, and it needs the community in which she has become and where it is lived. In it, she has her unit, and it allows for the whole of the cohesive sense.
